Phoenix Art Museum preps exhibit about jumpsuits

If you missed my article that ran Aug 31. about the upcoming exhibit “One for All and All for One: The Jumpsuit” at Phoenix Art Museum, follow this link.  It also includes some  historic functional pieces — one of Lindbergh’s flight suits, for example — in addition to the fashion outfits you’d expect.

There is something about a single-dose skin care product that makes me giddy. I don’t know why — maybe it’s because I get the impression it combines super freshness with science? When those individual GoSmile tooth-whiteners came out, I walked around with one in my pocket day and night … just in case.

Trying to fight ‘the spree’

Way back when I still lived in Colorado, I managed to muck up my finances pretty well, to the point where my bank yanked my checking account. So for quite a while I lived cash-only, which probably was the only thing that taught me how to budget better. When you pay in cash, you’re very aware of how much you’re spending on things, and once you’re out of money, you’re OUT OF MONEY.

Book $50 treatments during Arizona Spa Week

It’s time to start booking your Arizona Spa Week treatments! From Sept. 15-21, participating spas will offer selected services for $50, from facials to dermabrasion to Brazilians. The goal is to introduce “a new generation of consumers” to what’s available. Many are offering eco-friendly and organic treatments.

Canal restaurant sponsors fashion photo contest

Designer Rachel Pally to spend day at Estilo in Scottsdale

Fashion designer Rachel Pally will make a personal appearance Saturday at Estilo Boutique in Scottsdale, greeting fans and revealing her fall designs (like the one above).

Her visit is part of the First of Fall Fashion Soiree, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the store at Scottsdale Waterfront, 7135 E. Camelback Road. Owners Gina Cooper and Kelly Dixon will also have new fashions from Haute Hippie, Hudson, Rich & Skinny and Karen Zambos Vintage Couture ready for shoppers.  Information: (480) 664-0365.
