I'm sorry about the Mix's stores. They really are all great. I'm a shop-a-holic and support only the local boutiques as I hate monuvering in-and-out, between & around people at the malls. I love Moody Blues. Mahsa - it was just okay....Went to a great boutique last Wednesday and got boat loads of cool clothes and accessories at a store called Lux Boutique. They are having a great great sale. They are putting out all their new items and the girls there said that the store is changing to "nothing over $100". Example, I got the coolest brokedown hats really really cheap $15. About 6 pairs of jeans and cute T's. The jewelry is ridiculously unbelievable and the clothes are really the cutest. Only drag here is they need a little more help. Had to wait a bit to check-out, but it's worth the wait! Another great store is Judy, i found a cute dress their too. LOVE IT LOVE IT!! Okay, let me sneak in one more fav. K, I forgot the name of the store, but they only sell accessories and it's on Northsight. OMG cheap cheap shoes. It's in the same center as Kohls? Signed - Crazy boutique shopper & Co.

I stay blissfully unaware of the machinations behind development, but I'm hoping this was just a fluke -- I know another store in the same development is doing gangbuster business compared to its old location. (If I remember, it's basically doubled sales, in a smaller space.)

Mahsa struck me as the kind of store where you'd go in to splurge on a particular item -- there was always great jewelry, in particular -- but with the economy tanking, I don't know how many shoppers feel like splurging quite that high. Nowadays even if they do splurge, more people are probably settling for an $80 facial -- or a $20 jar of sugar scrub -- than a really cool $400 necklace.

It could also be a lot of similar stores in the area, with the opening of The Mix ... or maybe Mahsa wanted to spend time with her family! (And not in that disgraced-politican way.) Or a combination thereof.

Always sorry to see a retailer fold. However, it would be interesting to see what promises Scottsdale Economic Vitality made prior to this store's
opening. The current Mayor is clueless about most elements in the city, but particularly so in economic trends. This store is, or was, located in a clearly
losing venue...but, you can bet the Developer was well connected to City Hall,
where dollars and power are never overlooked.
