Shoe Hot or Not: Bruno Frisoni edition

I’m baaaack! My flights were OK, and I was able to snap this photo of a girl wearing one of those dreaded velour track suits at Sky Harbor, on my flight out. (Although, truthfully, I did it because I thought they made a cute support system – her lap is his pillow, while his stomach is hers.)

And while I was perusing the airline’s magazine (note to self: next time remember pen for crossword puzzles), I found this week’s Shoe Hot or Not contender!

(Also, here’s yet another sign that social networking sites have been co-opted into mass media tools: Their pseudonymous travel columnist has her own Facebook page.)

The article was about cool places to shop in Paris. I will say that I am a bit suspicious of their picks, given that their pick for men’s clothing in all of Paris was Daniel Cremieux, who sells a line at … Dillard’s (which happens to be the back-cover advertiser).

Their pick for women’s shoes: Bruno Frisoni, and this yellow pump.

I like parts of this shoe — the color alone makes me happy — but that middle panel, with its slightly crinkled, not-quite-sturdy leather, is giving me pause. I bet it would look even more battered-looking after a few wears. And I bet that brown stuff is elastic, so you can actually wedge your foot into the high shoe. I think I am not enchanted by this shoe, and therefore relegate it to the Not category.

brunopurple.jpgI love the sandal at right so much better — granted, the ribbon would probably get dirty if it scuffed against the ground at all, but that one, unlike the one above, would make my heart go pitter-patter if I saw it in the store. If I were styling a fashion shoot, I would pick these sandals over the yellow pumps in a heartbeat.

But what do you think? Is that yellow pump Hot, or Not? Cast your vote in the interactive poll below by clicking your choice. (And if you’ve got a different take, feel free to create a new option.) You can vote once — but there’s no time limit. (Yes, I go back and check to see how each contender is faring, even months later.)

Plus, if you’ve got the time and opinion, leave a comment at the bottom – everyone who does so by Saturday, July 27, will be entered into a drawing to win a prize pack from Lush, which I forgot to give away earlier. Good luck!  UPDATE: Congratulations to AZJane, whose comment was chosen as this week’s winner.

HOT HOT HOT plus when people say where did you get those shoes you just drop into the conversation oh a little shop in PARIS.

PS my second favorite pair of shoes that I have ever owned purchased in Paris. (see good use of name dropping)

Those sandals are Fab! The beautiful satin purple color and that chrome heel! OMG! ~drools~ Those shoes on the other hand somehow remind me of what Uma would wear in Kill Bill–maybe its cuz of the outfit she wore while kicking booty!

  3. JOYE Says:

The yellow shoes remind me of a bumble-bee and would probably not fit most feet comfortably since the instep seems to be pretty high. But the purple shoes look stylish and seem more versatile. I would war the purple ones for sure.

  4. jan Says:

Sandals are a thing of beauty. The shoes look like you would wear them at a shell station in outer space.

  5. Crazy H Says:

I wish the yellow ones were executed better. I probably wouldn’t mind them if they didn’t look so plastic. I wonder what the price tag is. The purple ones are sweet and spicy. I don’t think I am all for the bow, but the color is fabulous.

  6. Angela H Says:

The yellow ones are ugly! The purple sandals are great though! I would definitely wear those.
