Father’s Day gift ideas, Day 1: Sandals

I found a great Father’s Day card this morning at the drugstore when I was picking up some bandages. And that one sentence explains the two! Two! TWO! recurring themes in some of this week’s posts:
(1) Father’s Day gift suggestions, and (2) I’ve declared June 9-13 “Sandals Week” because I ended up falling into a swimming pool yesterday (amazingly, no liquor was involved, just misjudging how much pavement was left when I was backing up moving pool furniture) and shredding the sides of my feet on the concrete. So shoes hurt.
And, in a serendipitous move, today’s Father’s Day suggestion is … sandals!

Specifically, a good pair of criss-cross style sandals, which are dressier than flip-flops or Tevas. I grabbed a pair by Miu Miu at Saks Off 5th a couple of years ago, and they’re probably my favorite sandals.
And you don’t have to spend a ton: The Bobby sandals by Type Z, above, may be $110 at Zappos, but you can find others by Jump for about half that ($56) on the same site. They’re below, along with others by Ugg ($124) and Timberland ($64).

Not enough? Below are three more: Tommy Bahama ($145), Dolce & Gabbana ($265) and Kenneth Cole Reaction (on sale for $59.99).

Last supplementary hint: If you think he’s up for it, spring for a pedicure, too. If he balks, tell him it’s more about his feet than his toenails.
