I normally wouldn’t recommend ducking into strange vans with covered windows … but when it involves Bliss Spa, I’m willing to make an exception.

To get ready for the spa’s debut at the new W Hotel in Scottsdale, Bliss is asking residents to pick which local company’s brownies will be showcased at its in-spa “brownie buffet.” People who stop in the “Blissmobile” in Scottsdale Fashion Square can taste-test the three contenders and vote for their favorite. They’re calling it “You Be the Fudge.”

The Blissmobile will be stationed near the Sony store at the food court at Fashion Square from noon to 6 p.m. on the following days:May 31-June 1
June 5-8
June 12-15

My take on the three finalists:

Fairytale Brownies: These are the ones I send my friends and relatives, and while I’m one of the few people who don’t really crave chocolate that much, I’ve been known to opt for the caramel brownie (above) if a box shows up in the office. (I do hate how often the catalogs show up to both sender and recipient after you ship them to someone.)

Tammie Coe Cakes: The baker with two stores in Phoenix is known for her attention-getting cakes (like the one above) with Dr. Seuss style fondant covers — which, to be honest, I think look way better than they taste.

Wicked Bakery: I love their logo, above, which reminds me of the witch from the Bugs Bunny cartoons (albeit a kinder, baking-er version). But I’ve never sampled their wares, which makes them a total dark (chocolate) horse.
