Valley-based skin care and cosmetics company Philosophy is opening its second stand-alone store in the East Valley — and the country! — this week. (Well, technically it’s the third store, if you count the long-gone shop on Mill Avenue, where I first got introduced to the line.)
The grand opening of the store at Dana Park shopping center, on the northwest corner of Baseline Road and Val Vista Drive, is scheduled for April 10 and to celebrate, the lovely folks at Philosophy let me pick out a few of their new items for a Tribune giveaway. See below for how to enter.

BUBBLICIOUS: Multitaskers love Philosophy’s three-in-one shampoo, shower gel and bubble baths. I, personally, don’t care for the sweeter-smelling ones like Sugar Cookie or Pumpkin Pie — I veer straight toward the fresh citruses, like the lime kick of Señorita Margarita (which, by the way, also has an amazing scrub). So the new citrus-based high-foaming shower and bath gelees ($20) are ideal for me — especially lime-scented Let Go Let Love, at left. (Other options are lemon, pomegranate, grapefruit and tangerine.)

GIMME SOME LIP: While they were introducing new products that started with “gel,” they decided to create lip gelatos ($10) — hydrating, plumping glosses in the same citrus scents as the gelees above. And while I like lime, I don’t think that would be the flavor I’d like to savor all day. So instead, I opted for something that would keep you in the pink — grapefruit-flavored Soul Mates.
BEAUTY BOOSTER: When anyone asks what my favorite Philosophy product is, I always say Hope in a Jar moisturizer. No contest. But some people need a little extra help, so the company has introduced the When Hope Is Not Enough line, including a firming and lifting serum and two new products: Hyaluronic acid/peptide ampoules and Omega 3•6•9 Replenishing Oil ($45), with essential fatty acids to help maintain great supple skin — even after menopause. Scared of using oil on your face? Relax: It’s only three to five drops’ worth.
And now for the chance to win! Click on this link to send me an e-mail that includes your name and the mailing address to which I should send the products if you win. (No, I won’t forward them to our circulation department or anything.) Make sure to use the word PHILOSOPHY as your subject field. I’ll pick a winner from the entries received by 5 p.m. Thursday, April 8. Good luck! (UPDATE: Congratulations to Judy Greenberg of Tempe, who was picked as the winner.)
