Tonight designer Ralph Rucci will present his Chado Ralph Rucci luxury fashion line to an invitation-only crowd at Phoenix Art Museum — the first and only time the Paris-based designer will do so in the United States this season.
Those of us not on the event will have to content ourselves with a new exhibit of 25 pieces from Rucci’s archives and private collections, which the museum will display for five months in its fashion design gallery. The silk chiffon evening dress with feathers at top is from Rucci’s Spring 2006 collection; click on the thumbnail at left to bring up the full-size photo of the embroidered silk gazar evening dress from the same collection (lent by the designer himself!).
The “Chado Ralph Rucci” exhibit opens Friday, March 21, and runs through Aug. 17 in the Kelly Ellman Fashion Design Gallery at Phoenix Art Museum, 1625 N. Central Ave. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday (until 9 p.m. Tuesdays, and 6 to 10 p.m. the first Friday of each month). Admission: $8-$10 (free after 3 p.m. Tuesdays and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. First Fridays).
