Shoe Hot or Not: Nanette Lepore edition
February 26th, 2008, 10:40 am · 6 Comments · posted by Sam Mittelsteadt
Nanette Lepore’s new collection of shoes designed for Keds leaves me … underwhelmed at best, and in the case of the worst offender, this multicolor wedge, downright unimpressed.

In a “must-pick-one” world, I would opt for either the green Retro wedge (conveniently among the cheaper entries at $59.99) or the Vanilla Mesh wedge (on the other end of the spectrum, $119.99). But they — and the ones below — all seem kind of, to steal a pejorative from Heidi Klum, “home-sewn.”

But it’s not up to me — what do you think? Are these shoes hot, or not? Cast your vote and leave your opinion in a comment below. This week’s prize is a bottle of … Nanette Lepore eau de toilette!
I’ll draw one winner from the commenters who post before noon Friday, March 7. (But feel to free to leave your comment after that as well, if you wish.) UPDATE: Congratulations to Jodi, whose name was chosen as the winner!
Remember to come back for a new contender every week — and a new post every weekday.

Not hot, but I agree the cutest one is the green one. I might have even bought the green and white ones if I liked wedges.

OMG are you kidding me? Those are like a bad joke. They are AWFUL! I love wedges in general, they are very comfortable to walk in, and I love the added height (I get happier for every inch I climb over 6′) but those are just gross.

Hideous, hideous, and more hideous. And I actually like Nanette Lapore. And Keds. These look like neither.

I’m not proud of this, but I have to admit, I kind of like them. The green one especially. I’ll go sit in the corner now.

I think young girls and teens would wear these. They are funky but not too practical. I think the black ones would look the best

I know that Angela would wear most of the shoes with the exception of the blue and red one… no girly ribbons and bows for that girl! haha. She loves to wear shoes that stand out and are different.
