“The Beauty Show” takes applications for makeovers

January 29th, 2008, 11:28 am · Post a Comment · posted by Sam Mittelsteadt

In the market for a head-to-toe makeover? A new reality series, “The Beauty Show,” will hold open auditions at Dolce Salon & Spa locations in February to find two Valley women who’ll receive more than $30K in services and star in the 13-week series.

There are, however, some rules.

Makeover candidates should be: 28 or older; willing to lose 10 or more pounds; able to devote at least 15 hours a week to fitness training, meal planning, writing in a journal and making outside appointments; and comfortable doing all of that work on camera. There are also a few wiggly requirements, too: “Have a compelling reason” why the show would help them achieve specific goals and “responsible and dedicated to achieving the goals outlined by their team experts” (read: no women who give up easily).

At open auditions, candidates fill out an application, have a photo taken and meet the casting panel. The East Valley auditions are: 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Dolce location at Chandler Fashion Center (3305 W. Chandler Blvd.) and the same time the following week at the Dolce location at The Borgata shopping center (6166 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale).

Or download an application here and drop it and a photo off at the Dolce location out in Peoria (53 W. Mariners Way) by noon Feb. 24.
