Aeropostale has enlisted “Jumper” stars Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen, pictured, to promote the Do Something “Teens for Jeans” campaign, which collects clothing for the young homeless and needy.
(Why Aeropostale’s interest? It’s estimated that 1/3 of all homeless people are younger than 18, and the store’s target demo is in the 14- to 17-year-old range.)
Bring a pair of (gently worn) jeans to any Aeropostale store and earn 20% off a new pair. The donated clothing will be given to a local teen shelter or charity. Like the CEO of Do Something said in the release: “We are not asking for money. We’re not selling them something. We’re asking teens to give something they love to someone else who needs it.” And to kick things off, Aeropostale is donating 10,000 pairs of new jeans.
The clothing drive begins tomorrow (Jan. 22) and continues through Feb. 10. Look for ads to air on network and cable TV, and on MySpace and Facebook. More info is at the Do Something or Aeropostale web sites.
