Shoe Hot or Not: Socrati edition

As I mentioned, Socrati is opening its first U.S. store in Scottsdale Fashion Square. Its claims of high-fashion, low-cost shoes make it seem like the H&M of the footwear world. Maybe they’re staking their claim somewhere around Aldo territory?

My friend Sharyn’s mom once told her that only whores wear red shoes, which is always the first thing that pops into my mind whenever I see a pair, such as these sassy Dumond sandals from Socrati’s fall collection. The Swiss dot pattern on theclarins.jpg footbed is a nice touch, even if just a hint of it would appear when a foot is actually encased inside. And while I like the scalloped edges on the large strap and heel cup, for some reason those other smaller straps look sort of like plastic paillettes, which I don’t think I’m too fond of.

But it’s not up to me — what do you think? Is this shoe hot, or not? Cast your vote and leave your opinion in a comment below. This week’s prize is a bottle of Clarins Eau Dynamisante in a limited-edition Eau du Coeur collector’s bottle, which celebrated the company’s 10 years of commitment to charities that protect children, preserve the environment and improve women’s health. I’ll draw one winner from the commenters who post before noon Friday, Jan. 17. (But feel to free to leave your comment after that as well, if you wish.) Update: Congratulations to Joy, the commenter who won the fragrance.

And remember to look for a new contender every week — and a new post every weekday.

Super cute and girly! Perfect for this spring’s romantic looks.

First, these shoes are hot. They may be made of some sort of plastic, which I’m not typically attracted to, but the contrast with the scalloped edges, the enclosed heel, and the shape of the heel make these a great pair of shoes. Too bad these aren’t up for grabs as a freebie!

Second, how ’bout we modernize that cliche? How about “Confident strong women wear red?” (And I do believe that. Red is a power color. And one of my favorites!)

Thanks for sharing, nice pair of shoes!

    Concept is Hot
Red Heels on Women always Hot
But even in a photo these look like the poor relation of a proper shoe.
The polka dots, scalloped edges and assorted bric-a-brac are just too much. I see a shoe that should start walking itself to Last Chance.

I think they are hot. They do look a little plasticy but if they truly are “affordable” you can’t get too picky.

    Hot.

The color, the scalloping, the swiss dot and the design of the shoe make it completely adorable!

  6. Lori Says:

I like the Mary Jane strap and stiletto heel, but I think the plastic scalloping looks cheap, and therefore, Not Hot.

  7. JOY Says:

I really like this shoe. It looks like a good choice for spring. Of course, one would need a pedicure before wearing it to look chic.

  8. Crazy H Says:

Super hot, but may not be very comfortable.
