Shoe Hot or Not: High(heel)lander edition

August 23rd, 2007, 12:28 pm · 11 Comments · posted by Sam Mittelsteadt

Call it "Shoe Sophie’s Choice," or "High(heel)lander": You can pick only one of the menswear-inspired pumps above (both from ShoeMall.com). The tweed d’Orsay "Lejune" by Steve Madden at left (3.5-inch heel) and the two-tone leather "Torie" by AK Anne Klein at right (3-inch heel) are both peep-toe pumps and both cost $79.95.So, which will it be — which is your favorite shoe? (Or do neither of them float your boat?) Leave your comment below.(Need an incentive? Each week I pick one commenter at random to win stuff out of my goodie drawer. Whoever gets drawn this time will receive fragrances by Sula — a full-size bottle of Lily Lotus and a fun-size bottle of Vanilla Blossom. All commenters who leave a post by Aug. 27 will be eligible.)

Both are hot but if I have ot pick one it would be the Tweed. The use of mens fabric is fun and a heel can never be to high.
(Your sister is going to kill me for that one)

  2. Tammy Says:

I actually really like the Tweed shoe!! I could have fun wearing it…and if I did, people could have fun watching me walk in it-haha!! LOL Michael…I would never kill you…

  3. Christina Says:

Just when I thought I was sick of peep toes for the year, you go and spring these on us! I love them both. The Anne Klein is a more practical purchase, but the tweed is so fun.

  4. Francesca Says:

I really like the AK shoes the most and the Steve Madden shoes are just ugly to me…my grandmother has tweed shoes that are at least 40 Years Old. I will have to let her know shes back in with fall’s latest trend!

  5. cj Says:

Tweed-ly, tweed-ly, tweed-ly, dee. Both shoes make me happy as can be!

  6. TK Says:

The tweed shoe is fun & different. The name is also great - Lejune. Really, who thinks up this stuff?

  7. Lou Says:

I think peep toe shoes are pestiferous. I have authority to say this because I’ve seen a different pair everyday for the last six months (I kid you not) on my mom. Her name rhymes with PJ.

  8. Chelsea Says:

The tweed one is way fun. Though, I already have a pair of tweed-y heels, so I may be biased.

  9. Miachelle Says:

I think these are both excellent heels for the office.

  10. Jen Says:

Shape of Torie + tweed fabric of Lejune = Perfect shoe for me. (Sorry, I couldn’t pick just one and feel good about it.)

  11. Dena Says:

Can’t get enough of the peep-toes! The shape on both of these are gorgeous, but if I could only pick one it would be the AK (more versatile). But if the AK were in two-tone black and gray? They’d be perfect!
