Great Stuff 07-29-07: Your feet are nasty.

In a climate where flip-flops and sandals are year-round options, keeping your feet in condition for public display is never not an option. Luckily, there’s no shortage of items designed to help soothe — I mean, smooth — the soles….A radical notion: No matter how refreshing mint may be, some people don’t want their feet to smell like chewing gum. Summer Soles goes for the sweet tooth instead: The Texas company’s Farm Fresh Fine Scrubs ($30) come in Early Apple, Sweet Cream and — yum! — Whipped Honey scents. Each signed, hand-packed jar uses granulated sea salt for fine exfoliation, plus rice bran oil to moisturize without a slippery, greasy effect. The scrubs even made Oprah’s favorite things list in March! Online: summersoles.com.Former Valley resident Deborah Lippmann has expanded her nail care and polish Lippmann Collection line to include pedicure products such as the two-part Soul Mission ($48) foot smoother. Start with the grapefruit-scented scrub, then add a few drops of Some Like It Hot warming peptide activator to ramp up the exfoliation process and leave feet soft. (The only downside: You have to do it near a tub or other place to rinse it all off.) Extra-tough cases might require a spritz of Get Off callus softener spray ($38), followed by a session with a paddle sander. Find them at Nordstrom, Chandler Fashion Center.Imagine those self-stick tub-safety decals had a texture coarse enough to scrub rough skin off heels and soles. East Valley nail technician Connie Guzzo created just that: Kik-n-It exfoliating pads ($19.95) should be used on wet feet during a bath or shower. They’re sold in white, black and yellow at 39 Nails, 961 W. Ray Road, Chandler, or kik-n-it.net.
