Sarah Jessica Parker’s clothing line

So, the other day we were watching "Oprah" and it turned out to be anepisode where they devoted an extraordinary amount of time to Sarah Jessica Parker’s new clothing line, Bitten, which will be available exclusively at Steve & Barry’s stores. If Steve & Barry’s sounds familiar, it’s because it’s also the exclusive retailer for the Stephon Marbury-licensed line of Starbury sneakers, each of which is only $14.98, and apparel (jerseys cost no more than $12.98, shorts as little as $4.98).And Parker has applied the same principle to her Bitten line: No item will be more than $20.Now, don’t get me wrong: I applaud this principle. But the way that Oprah greeted this news you’d think the woman had never heard of Old Navy, or H&M, or any other fast-fashion, low-price clothing stores. (I guess once you start shopping at Hermes — or don’t — your reference point changes.) SJP was heralded as some sort of messiah. Most of the Bitten clothing at this preview shouldn’t be more than $20, no matter where you picked them up. And when the models trotted out on "Oprah," we noticed how the seams puckered in the back of the dresses sometimes from bad stitching, so it appears not everything would be the sort of outfit you’d want to spend money on, even if it was less than $20. (So really check out the jeans, that’s what I’m saying.) And I don’t think I’d consider any of the garments "luxurious" quality, like Parker rhapsodized earlier. But again: Sometimes you just need a cute, cheap top, and this could be another option. Her line debuts June 7.The only Steve & Barry’s store in the Valley is at Desert Sky Mall, off 75th Avenue and Thomas Road. (Hey, I’ve driven to Arrowhead for body scrub, so I don’t judge.)

WHY DON’T WE HAVE ONE OF THESE STORES ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE VALLEY. WE HAVE 2 NEW MALLS OPENING UP IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS IN THE TEMPE MESA AREA. WHY DON’T THEY HAVE ONE IN THIS AREA. WE NEED CHEAPER CLOTHING STORES FOR WOMAN TOO. I LIKE SARAH JESSICA PARKERS CLOTHING LINE
