Great Stuff: All natural

Ever since I blogged about the possibly poisonous link to a byproduct in sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates, I’ve been reading labels a little bit more closely — and getting reader requests and suggestions. These items are free of SLS/SLES and parabens, but still feel like a treat, not some grim nature-fanatic requirement like some natural/organic products can.
Want to find a bounty of natural and organic cosmetics and skin care? Browse Verde Maison, 16459 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale: Items in the store are free of parabens, propylene glycol … even mineral oils. That’s where you can find TerraNova’s new Organic Oasis line, including the Green Coffee and Yerba Mate Stimulating Body Scrub ($16.50) and the Tiare Flower & White Tea Rejuvenating Lotion ($18), both certified more than 70 percent organic. The Erbaviva line began in 1996 with baby care items like wash bags filled with organic oats, milk and lavender, but has since expanded to include products for everyone. The Breathe bath and body line invigorates with organic oils of spruce, eucalyptus, cedar, tea tree, thyme and lemon. I’d go for the body wash ($16) first; other products include bath oil ($15), bath salts ($25), body lotion ($18) and room and body spray ($19). Find the bath and body products at Spa VH at the Hotel Valley Ho in Scottsdale or online at www.erbaviva.com.Vinotherapie shower gels ($19) by Caudalie may be named after wines, but don’t think you’ll emerge from the bath smelling like grapes (or alcohol): The label for the Cabernet formula, for example, promises hints of straw and honeyed limes. (Other fragrances include Fleur de Vigne, with melon, rose and pink pepper, and Sauvignon, with pomelo, mint and peach.) They’re available exclusively at Sephora stores at Chandler Fashion Center and Scottsdale Fashion Square.

Organic and natural is really so the way to go. I support it 100%. But, as you say, it is difficult finding stuff that actually is ‘a treat’ while at the same time is 100% organic. Very difficult. In almost any product, actually.
Which is why most manufacturers have done what they’ve done and they sell out in some ways. They might ditch the current harmful ingredient, but usually it is only to include maybe another one or two others. There really has got to be a way, we just need to keep pushing on and discovering.
Thanks for the links and everything, will be sure to check out this product. And thanks to the poster who posted a comment with another link. Will definitely be checking that out as well.
There really must be more. If you find any, keep posting them.
