We wound down the end of last week with a game: I asked the features writers to pick their favorite outfit in the Kohl’s spring lookbook … then pick the outfit they thought each of their co-workers would choose for herself. I was psyched when Christina picked this white cotton voile tunic by Daisy Fuentes ($44) because it was one of my favorite looks in the kit. (She says it would hide her "badonkadonk," which I think is a figment of her imagination.) Kohl’s has stores in Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa and Scottsdale. (And the Silhouettes catalog — www.silhouettes.com — sells a version for $34 for sizes XL-3X, $39 for sizes 4X-6X.)
I love the Orange Dream Machine smoothie at Jamba Juice; I think it tastes like baby aspirin. (I know those two sentences shouldn’t go together, but they do.) So when I finally realized that was one of the "flavors" of the scented lip balms they sell at the counter — at $1.25, it’s even cheaper than ChapStick! — it was a match made in heaven. It’s velvety-smooth and smells exactly like the smoothie — luckily it doesn’t taste like it, or I’d be licking my lips all day. And it’s got SPF 15.
Men who prefer a classic citrus scent should love the new Lemon Eau de Toilette ($70) from The Art of Shaving. It joins a line of products with lemon essential oil — preshave oil, shave cream, after-shave balm — designed for normal to oily skin. But it’s not a simple citrus: Hints of bergamot, petitgrain, vetiver and oakmoss help give the fragrance some depth beyond Lemon Pledge territory. Find Art of Shaving products at Nordstrom in Chandler and Scottsdale, or these guy-centric stores, all in Scottsdale: Cigar King, 7830 E. Gelding Drive; Exclusively Men’s Barber and Spa, 16549 N. Scottsdale Road; Romeo, 20707 N. Pima Road.
